Throughout the year Umang kept
brimming with several activities. On the one hand, the students were
busy in sports events, music, yoga and several competitions where
they also won awards. On the other hand, mainstream educational
institutions and schools visited Umang to participate in its
activities. The team at Umang established networks nationally and
internationally, participated in conferences, workshops and seminars
as well as established partnerships with number of organizations.
Interaction with mainstream educational institutions: Schools in
Jaipur such as SMSV, Seedling Children’s Academy, Step by Step, Army
Schools, AWWA Nursery, D.P.S, St. Christopher, UK etc, to quote a
few, were part of the efforts towards inclusive education and
integration. Placements for internships and visits from higher
institutions such as ICG, the University of Rajasthan, Jodhpur
University and Udaipur University were a regular feature.
Seminars, Workshops and Conferences: The team at Umang participated
and presented in seminars conferences and workshops locally as well
as nationally such as PARIVAR – Bangalore, National trust –
Hyderabad, NIOS – Delhi, Ministers Conference – Jaipur, READS
Anubodh, International Conference- Behror etc.
The team also trained and built capacity of staff from other
institutions through training and orientation lectures such as for
Nirmal Vivek schools, ICG, AISEC etc.
Children enjoyed and celebrated all the major national days and as
well spent time partying, celebrating birthdays and exchanging gifts
on festivals. Many important people paid visit to Umang whilst
recognizing our efforts. |
