How to Help Umang

Thank you for your interest in making a difference and helping people with disabilities to improve their quality of life. Umang has a variety of ways for you to get involved: volunteer, gifts, sponsorships, donations, product purchase and recruitment of our trained students.

Transparency, accountability and performing with full financial responsibility are intrinsic to our work ethos. With Umang, you are assured that both your money and time are well utilized.

Volunteer

Be a volunteer at Umang. Share your time and talent with us!

Volunteering at Umang is an enriching experience both professionally and personally. Volunteers are recruited through out the year from across the globe. Umang believes in ‘making a right match’ to create a win-win situation for everyone involved. This is achieved by knowing the volunteer and matching the needs of the program and the skills of the volunteer.

Sponsor a Child’s Education

@ INR 1200 a month or INR 14 400 a year you can do wonders for a child at Umang. Many of our children come from poor families, who are supported by people like you. Your contribution would enable a child with disability to gain education, training for employment and live, as far as possible, an independent life. Above all, it would realize the right to live a life of dignity and respect.

Buy products made by the trainees of our Work Training Unit

The trainees at work training unit manufacture number of products to suite your taste.
Every purchase of our product is a step forward in strengthening our purpose and helping a child with disability. All purchases of our products go toward enhancing the earning potential of the child with special needs.

Make a friend

Share your time and talent. Make a friend or a number of friends. Like every one of us children with disability need friends to cater to their social, emotional and psychological needs. Visit Umang, interact with your friends, play, and take them to parties, dinners, outings or excursions. Engage in meaningful activities while significantly contributing to your friend’s life.

You can also choose to become a part of our growing social network called ‘friends of Umang’.

Donate in Cash or Kind

To meet its recurring costs, Umang relies on sponsorships, grants and funds from individual, corporate and institutional donors like you. Donations help us to buy equipment, assistive devices, custom made special furniture, and meet requirements of physiotherapy, speech, gross motor and a host of crucial services.

Donations in kind could be in the form of appropriate equipment, books, computers, stationery, furniture - cupboards, tables, and chairs – wheel chairs or any other thing that can benefit us.

You can also donate through cash or cheques. Cheques must be drawn in favor of ‘Umang’.

Please note that donations to Umang are exempt from tax under section 80G, of the Income Tax Act.
