Inclusion in Community
and Inclusive Education
‘To be a part and
not apart’
Umang has been selected as a
partner by Spastics Society of India for Sarv Shiksha
Abhyaa – a crucial program on inclusive education run
by the government of Rajasthan.
Constant efforts are made at grassroots level by
implementing projects and programs in association with the
students and schools to integrate persons with disability
in main stream schools. Students are also placed in regular schools and
close follow up is maintained.
From time to time, various projects are also
implemented to
-
sensitize
principals, teachers and students of the mainstream
schools
-
provide
support through differential curriculum planning for
students integrated in mainstream schools
-
support the
resource centre of mainstream schools
-
prepare
persons with disabilities for inclusion through training,
attitude building and by facilitating actual placement.

At the macro level, through policy making and
legislative advocacy, efforts are made to include issues
related to disability in all the public programs. Umang
is also a member of the All India Association for
Inclusive Education. Specific projects are implemented
at macro level for proper implementation of the Persons
with Disability (PWD) Act, and to help state government
plan and implement policies to promote inclusive
education. |
